Calculating R

C is a gas. At RTP, each cubic decimetre of C has a mass of 1.17 g.

Can someone please explain how to calculate R of this gas?

PV = nRT.

You know P, V & T (RTP), R is a constant: 8.314, so you can work out n, and since you know m, you can work out Mr and have a good idea as to what it is. I expect that's what you actually want to find out (fingers crossed).
