The problem with history that its in the past and most of it is about wars and politics, i think you have to try and get kids and lay folk interested somehow, and if bending the truth to open to the masses, then why not.

I think it would be difficult to get kids to read latinised scripts of the Carolingian and Charlemagne.

anyway, im a historian heathen.
agree but think there's a difference between bending the "truth" (wont go into the whole truth vs history debate) and saying something completely and utterly wrong, which has happen
is truth an appropriate notion for history?
No - in a word LOL

That's just reminded me - I'm doing the most theretical module so far this term on historiography and whether we've come to the end of History etc. I'm really looking forward to the philosophical lectures at half 9 in the morning
I'm moving into my new apartment tomorrow. I think it is ace.

Another ranking thread: link

based on which has the biggest endowments, wtf.

some ppl rank anything based on anything.
it's rather said, isn't it
i think its rather sad.

I wanna start one "in your opinion which uni has the most blind, dyslexic, one handed, ginger, black, lesbian, midget, orphans". YOu see I have a friend who is a blind, dyslexic, one handed, ginger, black, lesbian, midget, orphan, and she really doesnt want to feel left out.

see what i get back
lol good luck with that one!!! i'm sure the expolys will be the universities that people refer to.
I would like to rank universities by the size of the vice-chancellor's ego - Nottingham must be a candidate for top spot.

I would like to see a ranking by how many points the university's name would be worth in Scrabble. The words "university" / "university of" should probably be excluded from the count for fairness' sake, though, unless they're actually part of the name (as in "University College London").
I'd like a ranking showing the grumpiness to non grumpiness ratio of a university's graduates
lol
im bored, excluding University, the university of, university of etc
