Accomodation in Aberdeen

I'm going to Aberdeen Uni this September and I heard that Hillhead student village is where all the buzz is but I'm not sure of any other specific halls there that is very social apart from New Carnegie, but it's too expensive for me.

Is there any Unite or general student accommodation in Aberdeen that has the reputation of being very social and having a lot of house parties? Preferably for first years but I'm not too picky

I'm starting in Aberdeen this autumn and will be staying in fyfe house. I don't think the building is what makes halls social but the people instead. I also think making home somewhere is most about the attitude so I don't mind that fyfe house isn't the prettiest of the halls.

that's true put people tend to compare it to a prison building and it's hard to socialise due to the awkward structure of the place.

i just want to make the best of my first year uni experience and i normally find it hard to make friends since im very introverted, that's why a very social hall of residence would be ideal for me

Ah well if you can afford the other options then sure but for me it's hard to believe there's enough differences social life vise in different buildings to make up the price difference. The more money you save on accomodation more you can spend going out and socialising elsewhere.

Hi,

I wont't be able to attend and I've got a Tenancy Agreement for a Silver Studio at St Peter Studios you might be interested in. It's just a half mile from the uni. You'd get your own space, but you won't be isolated because it has common areas which everyone in the building will gravitate to because it's only studios in the building. The agreement is for 16 weeks starting in September, £178 per week, £2848 in total. Please let me know if you are interested so that we can get in contact.

Are you still looking for a flat?
I can help. I have a room at Unite Spring Gardens for £95 a week (Premium Range Flat)- this is close to both the town centre and a 5 minute walk to the uni.
If you also decide to take up the room I will also pay you one months rent.
Please get in contact with me if you are interested.
Many thanks

Honestly, I stayed in Fyfe and it's not the prettiest building but it was pretty social when I was there. I mean, obviously it just depends on the kind of people moving there each year - maybe New Carnegie isn't social at all this year, who knows

The most social building last year was Adam Smith I think, and it's structured the way Fyfe is. New Carnegie had the reputation of being for girls who are sponsored by their daddies

But honestly, it doesn't matter what building you live in. You can be social everywhere and you can always go to another house to party
