For question 5bii Why is the oxidation product Br2 please and not something like NaSO4 or HBr?

So you are starting with NaBr and H2SO4

Let’s suppose you do just form Na2SO4 and HBr.

Can you:

(a) Determine the oxidation states of each element in NaBr, H2SO4, Na2SO4 and HBr.

(b) Does this indicate any change in the oxidation states of any of the elements? If so, what is oxidised? If not, then this indicates that this is not a redox reaction, so therefore, you have no oxidation products and you need to consider a different set of products.
