Hi @Nalall8,
Congrats on your offers⭐
It's an exciting time making decisions and there can be lots of factors to consider.
You should hopefully have been invited to applicant/offer holder days (ours is next month)- these are a great way to re-visit your options and get a real feel for a place and whether it's right for you.
It's also helpful to re-visit course pages and look through module details as well as work placement and study abroad opportunities as these can really make a difference.
Wishing you all the best with your decision and we hope to see you at our Applicant Day in March 🙂

Hello all 👋, I've applied to do Astrophysics at Cardiff, Sheffield, Leicester, Glasgow and Leeds.

I submitted my application at the very end of October (31st) and received all my offers by the 9th of November. I forgot to mention that Leeds, Glasgow and Leicester are Masters where as Sheffield and Cardiff are Bachelor's.

I'm currently planning on putting Leeds as my firm and Glasgow as my insurance.

Good luck to everyone else and I hope you all get the offers you wanted!

Hi @Nalall8

These unis are all in different places across the country - York is quite far away from London and Hertfordshire. Does location matter to you? Or how busy the city is? I'd imagine London is much busier and bigger than York. When I was applying for undergraduate physics I considered location and how close the uni was to my home town but that's a personal choice. Some people want to be close to their home town whilst, others want to travel as far away as possible.

It might be worth looking into if the universities offer any specialist modules / research areas that you're interested in. Whilst it can't be guaranteed that the same modules will run each year it can be something to consider to give you an idea.

I found it really helpful to visit the universities I was interested in person. Having tours of the department, and having a look around the area really changed my mind on which universities I was interested in firming. Have you been to any interview days? When I applied to York in 2017 I had an interview there. Those sort of interview / offer holder days can be really helpful to get a feel for the uni.

Hope that helps

Thank you for the tips. I got all my offers without interviews. I have been to York last summer. I’m planning to go to offer holder day for QMUL and Hertfordshire.
As part of the TSR Goes Green initiative this week, I have created a thread on Careers in the Environmental Sector that you might be interested in.
