Kekule model

Why do chemists still use the Kekule model when drawing aromatic compounds?

Chemists are old-fashioned in many things (take the whole benzene/phenyl thing)
..because it' easier to draw mechanisms with.

Both drawings are simply cartoons of actual molecules, so it's not a big deal so long as you understand it's a delocalised system.
Yeah, the Kekulé model is much more effective at understanding and drawing the mechanisms, rather than them making you do all those half circles and **** at A-level

They're both right, but the circle's best only used when you're not drawing mechanisms.
