Do police officers use persuasion techniques to de-escalate intense situations or do they resort to aggressive and demanding behaviour?

Ofcourse we use communication before resorting to using our powers and applying reasonable force.

Although that may not always be possible, as it depends on the situation in front of you.

We are taught to use the national decision making model (NDM).
