Momentum Homework Help Plz.

1)A rocket of 2*10^5KG is initially stationary. It lifts of a ground and after 10s it is travelling at a velocity of 50ms-1.The mass is constant !

A)Calculate the impulse of the force on the rocket.

B)Calculate the resultant force acting on the rocket.

For A I've done F=(Mv-Mu)/t= 1*10^6N then P=FT which is 1*10^7NS

that correct ?:lolwut:

For B Ive got 1000000N
They are correct but the 1st one can be calculated more easily by remembering that impulse = change in momentum
The momentum goes from zero to mv so the change is just mv an you have m and the final v.

Force is rate of change of momentum so just divide your answer by t (10s) to find it.
