Why are most Pakistani and Bangladeshi women so lazy?

Why is TSR so racist? This thread is ignorant and presumptuous. The statistics of unpaid Pakistanis maybe due to the them middleasterns having traditionally large families and it makes more sense for women to stay at home than the man. That doesn't make them lazy. Being a full time mother is no walk in the park. Sit the **** down.

Ever heard of contraception and personal responsibility? Oh wait, yeah don't believe in it. Another cop out.
Yep, just like everyone else has already said, its expected for the pakistani/bengali women to stay at home and take care of the kids and the house etc. But its also because a lot of these women, the older generation of course, have come from Pakistan/ Bangladesh without any qualifications to help them get a job.
I'm Pakistani and my mum works (nowadays more than my dad does) because of our current circumstances. You can't really generalize all Pakistani/ Bengali women as being lazy when everyone isnt the same. And yeah, being a stay at home mum isn't easy either

So you think all women should work and there should be no stay at home mums?

Everyone should do at least something. We need socialism back. We need a society that works together and contributes to a collective cause. There should be no stay at home mums. A mother can work in the day during the hours her child is in school even if its only part time.

That poster might have dyslexia or something. Well done on picking on them for the grammatical errors they made. Congratulations.

People who don't work should receive no benefits whatsoever. Mothers who do part time work should get more money. The culture of stay at home parents should be killed off. You can still work and provide for your children. Just stop being lazy. Loads of parents do it.

I know loads of single mothers who worked and also brought up children to be fine individuals.

People who don't work and aren't disabled just make me sick. There is no excuse for laziness.

I don't think the article said anything about benefits... Also your view on benefits is extremely flawed. Whatsoever? What about those who are unable to work because of a disability? And regarding mothers, especially mothers who can not work or choose not work because they have many children, why strip them of benefits when you'll be punishing the children too?

As far as I'm concerned, this is not racism.

So labeling an entire ethnic group as lazy is not racist. Yes sis, it's racist. It's a racist opinion.

What you're afraid of undue generalisations. I have, however, provided facts.

You are right. Its completely possible. He/she might have. I shouldn't have done. I should have expressed my disagreement for his/her views in some other way.

I agree that it's wrong to label them all as lazy.
But still we need to assess these statistics and challenge this behaviour.

I lol'd.

I haven't seen as many shouts of racism as I expected..

Obviously religion coupled with intense patriarchy results in women being somewhere where they are most under control, at home.

Don't think they're predisposed to be lazy.

This thread is just despicable. My Pakistani neighbor is a housewife and she is on her feet all day long. She never seems to stop. Her house is immaculate, her cooking is excellent and she is always willing to extend a hand to my mother (who works six days a week). The housework she does is probably more physically tasking than most jobs.

Honestly, the lack of regard for stay-at-home mums just reflects the age range of this forum. Most people here don't have a clue yet. Ask them again in ten years.

I think you are confusing the culture of pakistanis and Bangladeshis with religion. Unless this way of life has been set out in the quran

It's asian culture but it's also a part of Islam. Like I said Islam does allow women to go to work but it puts the responsibility of earning on the male.

Can you even read?

I said 'People who don't work and aren't disabled just make me sick. There is no excuse for laziness.'

DO NOT GIVE ME A CARD - FOR 'OTHER/UNSURE'. THIS IS LEGITIMATE DEBATE/DISCUSSION

Let's not play the Asian card, because one can refer to the percentage of Indians who are not working.

And another graph to seal the deal.

80% of Pakistani and Bangladeshi women DO NOT WORK.

Why is this happening?

Why are they entitled to live in this country if they DO NOT WORK, and contribute to the economy?

They do work.
They sit at home popping out an endless supply of children for which they can claim a myriad of benefits.
(OCCUPATION) (SALARY)

Said children then proceed to frequent sites like TSR to tell the British public how Britain would be financially crippled without them
(?????)

What does she contribute to the economy? Oh wait.....nothing. That's right...but its okay because the rest of us will just all unite together to help this country out of its current financial woes. As long as her kitchen surfaces are sparkling and her misogynistic husband has food on the table as soon as he gets in from work thats all that matters.

Everyone else manages.

I never said it's impossible did I? I never said Pakistani and Bengali women need special consideration. I said it's not easy. Whether you're at home mum, a housewife, a career woman, a career woman *and* a parent everyone's life has ups and downs, everyone has different pressures to deal with. It's stupid of you to accuse a whole group of people as being lazy. Of course some will be, as there will be lazy workers, but that doesn't mean a whole group should be described in such a way.
