How can nordic states have a higher gender pay than much more traditional countries?

Romania, Malta, Poland, Italy... gender roles and traditional ''ways'' are huge in those places, yet the wage gap is much lower than countries like Denmark, Sweden, Norway or Finland aka the most gender equal, progressive, liberal, etc etc countries in the world .

World's most gender equal countries , check it out:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gender_Inequality_Index#Top_ten_countries

Basically every country on that list is at 15% or much higher with Slovenia being the only exception. And the fact that it's the only eastern euro/developing country is not a coincidence. The fact that pretty much the whole list is euro countries with some of the highest tax rates in the world is also no coincidence either. Too many clues already. I gotta stop somewhere and leave you something to imagine!

IF you look at a gender proportion of norway for example you will see the men al live in remote places and the women in oslo....

the reason:

Men work in oil and women work in make work jobs in the capital.

I wonder why the feminists are not upset that more women won't push themselves and work the hardest, most remote jobs.

Why should women have to work in remote places to prove how tough they are? Women are intelligent enough to know that they have nothing to prove by working in mines or oil rigs. Men pride themselves on working in stuff conditions women on the other hand are just more intelligent and don't engage in the penis measuring contest that men are focused on.
I think you're a bit confused. According to the list you linked, the nordic countries have the highest level of gender equality. Switzerland and Norway are respectively the 4th and 5th most gender neutral countries...
There is no gender wage gap. There is no job which has separate male and female rates.

That's his point - that some of the most gender-equal countries in the world maintain a substantial wage gap, often more so than many of the less 'progressive' nations, implying that the "gap" isn't necessarily a product of social injustice or oppressive gender roles.

Actually yeah that's true. It could be similar to demand though or even be classed as a separate job role, but feminists would definitely jump on it if it was at women's 'expense', because I'm not entirely sure if people lose out being a pornstar because there's other things to do.

Are you a 14 yr old girl?
Serious question as that is how this post comes across.
Men do those jobs because men, unlike most women, follow the money.
They know that for the whole of thoeir working lives they are very likely to be the main breadwinner in the family and if a time comes, maybe in his 30s or40s, when he decides to go part time, leaving his wife to pick uo the slack and do overtime to make up the money, (as men do), society, including most women, would look down on him for it.
Men do the hard jobs that bring in the money, for their loved ones, not due to any penis contest.
Women here in the uk choose not to as they know the men in their lives will, and if they dont, the state will pick up the slack.
Women in India etc do stem becuase they know if they end up in a position where they are single, divorced or widowed, then they are on their own.
It is the ultimate proof that contrary to what gender feminists spout, women here in the uk choose to avoid stem like the plague through choice, not pressure of social norms or alleged patriarchy.
India has patriachy on steroids yet many times more women entering the stem fields
Men are dying at the rate of twenty times that women are in their jobs in the UK to provide for their loved ones. In many cases he will be the only man in a house full of women.
Penis jokes......really?.....really?

It's a guy (probably white) pretending to be a sassy mizz independent (probably black) woman. Just ignore him.
Sadly, I think you might be right.😱

There is no job which has separate poor and rich rates either. Wealth inequality between rich and poor still exists.
Are you saying that the gender pay gap is down to sexism?

No, it's because women make the most feminine choices when they have the most freedom and the huge welfare state behind them. Which is exactly the opposite of feminist theory. Women in poorer/traditional/non-welfare countries lower the wage gap because they choose degrees/careers that are paid more since they have to fend for themselves. A girl in Sweden can make plenty as a nurse or teacher while a girl in China cannot (not to mention the huge differences in welfare). Not surprised feminists are avoiding this thread or the STEM in nordic countries one like the plague. It's the nordic gender paradox they love to ignore.

Glad you like it
Over 70% of jobs at Nordic countries tend to be governed by a collective bargaining agreement rather than anything else. Also one thing that is often forgotten is there are just as many men as there are women who work part time.

A big difference in UK and most Scandinavian countries are the number of females who work at traditionally "men's jobs" and vice versa too. Lots of females that work as logging truck drivers, plant operators (in some mines there is a preference for females over males), shipbuilders and surprise surprise there are actually plenty of cleaners who are female.

The other major difference is the effect of childbirth and career progression. Rules have somewhat made it that when a baby is born it will tend affect both parents as there are very generous benefits with regard to parental leave and both the mother and father has to take it. The effects tend to be momentary however as it is highly encouraged for both parents to return to work as per normal once the baby is a year old, childcare is also very affordable here and you don't really get that choice where it is more economical for one parent to stay at home as you will certainly be better off at work regardless of the type of work you do. Generally most parents do return to work simply because Nordic countries are expensive places to live and usually without a dual income it is quite difficult to survive.
