Whats the difference between a meristem cell and a pericycle?

In my OCR book it says "Just inside the endodermis is a layer of meristem cells called the pericyle" I dont get the difference is pericycle just a layer of meristem cells :s-smilie:

Pericycle is just a special name for meristem cells in the root
