Why do the majority of students hate school?

Personally, I absolutely loved school. I thoroughly enjoyed learning the subjects I was passionate about.

Personally, I loved the learning aspect of school. The problem, on the other hand, was other students being absolute knobheads, the general feeling I had of being an outsider and the constant competition you find yourself in when all you want to do is learn and extend your knowledge.
Because they have rubbish teachers who don't engage with them.
A lot of people are stuck doing subjects that have little meaning to them. Some people are just not academically intelligent so they struggle all the way through school. Some people have anxiety and depression which makes it hard to get up and go to school everyday.

I’m pretty sure the “majority” do not hate school.

I’d say often there’s a lack of engagement/belonging.
Because you get taught at the rate of the slowest kid in the class, which is no fun if you are the top of the class. I much prefer university because the professors don't wait for you if you get left behind (you just meet up with them outside of class) and there is a lot of self-teaching, which is at your own speed.
School is OK
because each teacher assumes that their lesson is the most important and e couldn't possibly be revising for any other subject than theirs
I dislike the system of education. I mean, most of it is just trying to memorise as much information as you can. I don't think it's a measure of how good or useful you are, it's a measure of how hard you work and how much effort you are willing to put in. Most people who work hard get good grades. That's not a bad thing but I think that it relies way too much on students storing information instead of them using the information in an effective way. Once you know the information, you're set.

I also dislike how school/teachers make you do unneccessary things and treat you like a moron. They think that you can't fill out a bloody form, some teachers even think that they have the authority to be rude and when you question them they spout "Don't answer back".

Overall I have enjoyed school quite a lot, but I hate some aspects of it.
Exams.

If there were no exams then I'd be fine, that's why years 7/8/9/10 were the best

Rampant socialism in the education system promotes mediocrity. Success is a source of shame. Achievement is to be demonised. Putting the smart kids in with the dumbest drags all down to the lowest common denominator and none see the point to it.

Really? Personally, I didn't think it was as much about memorisation as it was about learning a few key skills around a certain topic. What does need memorising is often useful and teaches you something about the world you live in, does it not?
