Why are so many people in the Third World so greedy/selfish?
In many third world countries, inequality, corruption and greed run amok.
In many of these countries, you have politicians and other upper classes who eat like kings, whilst most of the country's citizens struggle to find their next meal.
Why are these countries so greedy and selfish?
Why dont they take gap years and come to the West and observe how much equality and social welfare we have here and do the same in their own countries? Yet so many people in the third world are just out to get what they can. They don't even consider the suffering of their countrymen and try and just get as much money as possible without even giving a **** about society.

Because they don't realize that people need to be taken out of survival mode so they can begin acting like human beings.
Some of us Westerners know that if you give a person shelter, food and a education they will become more productive.
You only need to look at Romania to see how greed and prejudice stops human potential. The Roma there are dirt poor yet they are surrounded by arable land which technology could turn into a bread basket. In terms of energy creation alone Romania, Bulgaria and the Balkan nations could be turned into a highly productive area of commerce.
The people who are stopping human improvement are rich western nations like ours who need to give a little so the poorest people in Europe can be given the opportunity to multiply the fruits of their labors.
The best way to go about it is work with people in Eastern Europe and create kick starter projects which allow them to get a foot on the ladder so to speak.

The worst are those hi-so fat ***** you see in some of the Malls in Bangkok or Beijing lording it over the poor just cos they can do a bit of IT.
Because some are born with no empathy! 
it's human instinct to self-prioritise.

forget what country people are from and realise that we are outrageously lucky and privileged and could do so ****ing much for those who are less fortunate than ourselves.

It takes time to change the worst situation of any country unless it is being lead by a wiser people.
