Amino acids- paper chromatography question

We did an experiment involving paper chromotography and amino acids- of which there were 4 different ones.

One of the questions needed to answer is: why might not all of the amino acids known to be present in the mixture have appeared on your chromatogram? - only 2 of our amino acids appeared.

What's the reason for this?
