would it be a secondary amine + carboxyl ??

Hi, I am not a chemist, but relating your Q to the special case of amino acids and peptide bonds in biology, I would think that hydrolysis would lead to a compound with an amino group [e.g. R-NH2] and a carboxylic acid [in the example of a peptide bond between 2 amino acids, an amino acid [of which oc a carboxyl group is a crucial part]].

There are some detailed explanations online if that helps.
