did you square root too?

I put D which was like 48 or something
DNA is an acid
Original post by Hir7
wrote all that but I said pineapple juice is slightly acidic and so could therefore damage DNA fragment

Yeah dont think I should have divided by 2 :/

i got the around 50 but knowing me it’s wrong
Electrofusion
Original post by Ameliakkmm
The question about how can you insert a nucleus in an egg cell I said using a micropipette in a Petri dish hahaha
Lol me too😂

yee that's all the words i used too thanks for reminding, that's a guaranteed 6 marks out of 100 for us (-:
Me too!
Original post by KatieQ
I said because the mouse and frog are different species with different lifespans and so it wouldn't make sense to compare them in terms years/age as they develop at different rates and are considered to be adults are different ages

What did people get for the end question, (the fill in the blanks one)

said the DNA could become contaminated with pineapple DNA... (Sort of makes sense but not if the protease is purified and only made from the pineapple :/)

DNA is an acid
I got these too!

Original post by Sara saeed
Onion was broken in mortal and pestle to break down cell wall.
The step missed was adding detergent to distrust cell membrane
Protease enzyme break down histones protein associated with DNA forming chromatin
Contamination of DNA with pineapple dna
Precipitation reaction
Idk whose answers are correct but will appreciate other people telling their answers too
Looks good but i heard bile could be said for the last one

For the amount of amino acids that would
Be different (MCQ) I said 0-1
I said the passaged described an ecosystem
I said the non competitive inhibitor was A
For the questions about dna purification
The onion was broken up to increase surface and to volume ratio so the enzymes could break down the dna faster
Protease enzyme breaks down peptide bonds between DNA
The pinaapplejuice may contain other enzymes the could disappear
The ethanol should be added drop wise
And it was a precipitation reaction ?

Nah,
(MCQ) It was 0-3 because three base pairs changed in the whole sequence so they could have changed a codon each.
Non-competitive inhibitor was D as the others would not fit.
Onion was broken up to break cell walls.
Protease enzyme would break up the histones, DNA has no peptide bonds?
Pineapple juice would have contaminated the solution with pineapple DNA.
Missing stage was adding detergent.

I did this for number of phospholipids too, don't feel like many did, but I got 2.1 as radius but I guess will be a range
Original post by MaherphD
Number of phospholipids = 4 x pi x 2.05^2 X 21 = 1108
Uncertainty = 0.5 x 2 = 1 / 16 x 100 = 6.25
10% for estimation of woodland.
Bile as last answer for filing in the blanks.
Ester bonds broken. Drew diagram for further evaluation.
I love the way we are ignoring the coppicing question like OCR ignore anything that isn’t plants 🤣

I got that the missed step was they didn't heat it to 60 degrees to stoop enzymes breaking down dna, anybody else get this too

same!

I got 84 for the phospholipid question

No, you have to keep temperature low so you wouldn't heat it.
