PrEP is a waste of NHS money

It’s a drug in the Western world mainly designed for gay men wanting unprotected sex.

Why should society fund this when condoms are available?
PrEP isn't just for gay men wanting to be dogged raw.
It is a drug that has allowed people become protected from the terrible virus that is HIV, it allows peace of mind for users when they are engaging in sex acts to not be ashamed to perhaps be HIV positive, in addition to keeping the virus from spreading.
PrEP is not just being used by the LGBTQ+ community, cisgender women are rightly so taking these pills to prevent their chance of infection and rightly so. Around 100,000 people in the UK have HIV but this small blue pill is allowing sexual freedom which was not previously considered, and it can be used in tandem with a condom. It's also a way for a couple, and if one were to be HIV positive to have completely unprotected sex.
This was a hurl of information but it felt like you came on here uneducated and looking for a deliberate argument.
So check some facts and maybe you should get on the blue pill incase you swallow someones HIV poz ***.
HIV doesn’t just affect gay and bi men, it affects black people too disproportionately
Exactly, and if you are referring to there practically being an epidemic in Sub-Saharan Africa over people affected by HIV if some of these people were to end up using the NHS and PrEP it may better their lives drastically. May I also point out that PrEP is used by way more than just gay men, it gives freedom to so many sexually active people - slowing and in some cases stopping the spread of HIV.
HIV doesnt just affect gay men, yes they have a higher risk but anyone can get it through having unprotected sex. I would hazard a guess that the cost of prep is a lot less than if someone gets HIV and has to be on medication for the rest of their lives. Preventative things usually cost less in the long run.
A lot of people are against prep because they disagree with gay sex and think only gay men can get it

A better question would be why should society fund homophobic wastes of oxygen such as yourself?

What you are saying is bull**** its almost exclusively used by gays to have indiscriminate unprotected sex. They can get the literal same results by just not ****ing random people and using condoms but that just not as fun.Barely any of the users of this are women, couples where one is hiv+ but the other isnt. Its all gays that **** bareback and mtf transsexuals.

HIV can be spread if your condom breaks, so prep is a good back up. And, people on prep need to wear condoms anyway to prevent chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis etc. I use a condom every time and I'm on prep. You are supremely ignorant.
