Unit 5 chemistry edexcel, help!

Dichromate(VI) ions, Cr2O7 2− in dilute sulfuric acid, react with ethanol, CH3CH2OH, on warming to form chromium(III) ions and ethanal, CH3CHO. The half equation for this oxidation of ethanol is
CH3CH2OH --> CH3CHO + 2H+ + 2e− What is the mole ratio of dichromate(VI) ions to ethanol in this redox reaction?

correct me if i'm wrong, my answer was 2:3 because it takes 2 mols of dichromate to oxidize ethanol by two levels and 3 mols of ethanol to reduce dichromate by 3 levels.

mark scheme answer is 1:3, why tho?
