Hi im stuck with this question and im not sure where ive gone wrong. Please help ty

You’ve rearranged the second simultaneous equation wrong, it should be -T-0.8a=-0.8g and from them it’s easy to solve

If you have one equation starting with 'T' and another starting with '-T' then you should be adding them together to eliminate T :smile:

You’re messing up in combining the simultaneous equations again and when you have 1 equation with +ve variable and another equation with -ve variabel you add them and in your sphere equation you have 2g’s the equation 0.8g-T=0.8a

Block: T-6.86=2a
Sphere 0.8g-T=0.8a

Add the equation 0.8g-6.86=2.8a
a=0.35
