Competition terms and conditions on The Student Room

1. The promoter is: The Student Room Group (company no. 04666380) whose registered office is at Imperial House, 2nd Floor, 40-42 Queens Road, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 3XB.

2. All entrants to The Student Room prize draws deemed to have accepted these rules and agree to be bound by them.

3. Unless otherwise stated. prize draws are open to all over the age of 16, except employees of The Student Room Group or their family members or anyone else connected in any way with the running or setting up the prize draw.

4. There is no entry fee and no purchase necessary to enter this prize draw.

5. These terms and conditions are applicable to all prize draws run through The Student Room and associated websites and services, unless specifically detailed otherwise on that prize draw entry page. The closing date and specific rules for each prize draw are detailed within the prize draw form.

6. After the prize draws’ closing date, no further entries to will be permitted.

7. No responsibility can be accepted for entries not received for whatever reason.

8. The winner(s) will be selected at random from all entries where a valid email address is provided.

9. The decision of the promoters is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

10. If The Student Room runs a prize draw or offer with a promoter where that promoter is responsible for the provision of the offer or prizes, then The Student Room will not be responsible for or have any liability for the provision of those offers or prizes.

11. The Student Room Group and any associated promoters bear no responsibility for any entry which is incorrectly submitted, lost, damaged, incomplete or received after the closing date.

12. The promoter reserves the right to cancel or amend the prize draw and these terms and conditions without notice in case of any event outside the promoter’s control. Any changes to the prize draw will be notified to entrants as soon as possible by the promoter.

13. The promoter is not responsible for inaccurate prize details supplied to any entrant by any third party connected with this competition.

14. Prizes cannot be exchanged or refunded and there is no cash alternative. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice. 

15. The winner(s) will be notified by electronic message and within 28 days of the closing date. If the winner(s) cannot be contacted or do not claim the prize within14 days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner(s) and select replacement winner(s).

16. Any personal data relating to the winner(s) or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. You are providing your information to The Student Room in accordance with The Student Room privacy policy

17. Entrants agree that, in the event of their winning a prize, they will provide reasonable cooperation to allow the promoter to use their name, place of study and/or likeness for advertising and publicity purposes in connection with this promotion, including (but not limited to) publication of the winner's name, place of study and photograph on the promoter’s websites and social network channels.

18. Details of the winner(s) can be obtained by sending a SAE marked with the name of the prize draw to The Student Room Group, Imperial House, 2nd Floor, 40-42 Queens Road, Brighton, East Sussex, BN1 3XB within 28 days of the competition's closing date.

19. We shall disqualify any entries which, in our reasonable opinion, appear to be multiple entries unless the prize draw’s specific rules state that multiple entries are permitted.

20. We reserve the right to disqualify or not award a prize to an entrant who in our opinion has not entered in to the spirit of these terms and conditions or the intention of the competition.

21. If the competition requires you to be a higher education student or recent graduate, the winning entrant(s) will be asked to prove their student status after the competition has closed, and if relevant, prove they are/were a student at the learning provider their entry relates to. If they are unable to verify their status, the draw will be made again.
