Deaf athletes

I was having a discussion with friend and we both wondered the numbers of top footballers,rugby players athletes who were born profoundly deaf.

I can see no reason why profoundly deaf people would not be able to become a top footballer athlete etc if they got motivation drive and talent.

Are there any profoundly deaf professional footballers now?

Their appear to be one premier league player who profoundly deaf and a Walsh rugby player . I don't know about lower league and other sports.

Their is a deaf football league and some players are good another and get professional contracts with profession league teams
