AUB accomodation Home Park or Campus halls?

Hi! I'm going to AUB next yr October 2022 to do Animation Production, I don't know where to go for accomodation though? Everyone is saying Skyline however on the AUB application for accomodation it only gives me the choice of Maderia Road, Home Park or the campus (which is currently sold out - until the next way?) I'm not sure where to go as I want to have a good social life so I was thinking Home Park or Maderia Road? Any suggestions?
Thank you!!

hiii i'm also starting animation production this october and i've chosen madeira road for accommodation :^) for skyline and other accommodation like that it's not actually by aub i think it's run by someone else so you can't apply for accommodation through the normal aub accommodation part on the portal (i think although i could be wrong)

I'm a first year at aub and i'm living in campus halls at the moment. it's pretty nice and i'd recommend it to others - it's certainly the nicest available from the uni. home park is also nice, but generally the rooms are a lot smaller. the primary thing you should consider is location though, imo. campus is a 20 minute bus ride from town, and the last bus is usually at like 00:10. if you're out for the night, getting home means leaving then or paying for a taxi (or walking, which takes about an hour). home park is in town, but conversely means you're gonna need to travel to campus every day, which can be expensive if you're relying on the bus and don't have the annual bus pass (which i cannot recommend getting enough). really, it depends on what your priorities are. campus halls is quieter generally, personally speaking nicer, and closer to your classes, but it's further away from where people go to socialise and spend a night out. home park is closer to the nightlife and socialisation, but it's further from campus.

This is really helpful, thanks! Was there a range of different ages staying in campus halls? And also would you say you still found it easy to go to town during the week, e.g.for food shopping or socialising?

in my experience campus is generally 18-20, but i know a couple slightly older folk (one of my flatmates is 23). going to town is pretty easy depending on when you're going. during the week it's easy, there's a U1 (takes you from campus to most in-town halls and back) every like 5 minutes from 10am until 5pm and regularly outside of those times too, as well as the 17 every half hour (takes you from campus to the centre of town through a nearby borough called winton). at the weekend it's a bit tougher - saturdays there's a 17 every half hour or so until like 5, and then one every hour or so. sundays there's a 17 every hour or so until 7pm, and then every two hours until 12.

in terms of shopping specifically, there's a sainsbury's and an aldi within like 20 minutes walk of campus halls, as well as winton about 20 minutes walk away which has more shops, pubs, etc. there's also a convenience shop just behind the halls. depending on where you wanna shop and so on it's pretty easy.
Hello, I've just booked a studio for campus halls and was wondering if you could give me some information about them if you have any, more specifically about the kitchen because the AUB website doesn't really get any good photos of it. Many thanks in advance.

Hi! I'm in AUB accommodation currently so I can help you out here. It's normally 7 in one cluster of flats. In madeira Rd it's 6-8 I think.
