oxidation state of C

hello,

how would you find the oxidation state (change) of H in this equation?

(CH3)2CO + H2 --> (CH3)2CHOH

ive noticed while doing questions i get stuck dealing with the oxidation state of C. Also, this has H in both reactants so im not sure on how to find the change.

for context, this question is about finding out where is hydrogen reduced. so i approach this question by looking for a decrease in oxidation number of H. is this right?

thank you!!!!!!!

In H2 the oxidation state is 0 and when its in a compound its +1. so in the (CH3)2CO its also +1.
Are you sure you read the question is right and its not oxidation? or is the reaction reversible??
