Why is1-methylpentane not an isomer of Hexane

If you had the methyl on the first carbon, it would be one continuous chain. It’s just hexane, not a different structural isomer.

i may be wrong but i think 1-methyl pentane is just hexane. Because the longest carbon chain in 1-methyl hexane is 6 (not like in 2-methyl pentane where the longest carbon chain is 5)

so 1-methyl pentane doesn’t exist
