The Student Room Group

Here is a model answer to that question and I’d like you to give it a mark to see which criteria on the mark scheme you think it fits and explain why (since model answers are good for understanding where students go wrong or miss key points in addition to learning how to structure them):

“Isomers are molecules with the same chemical formula, but a different arrangement of the atoms in each molecule.

For example, C4H8 could represent but-1-ene (CH2=CHCH2CH3) or but-2-ene (CH3CH=CHCH3). Furthermore, C4H10 could represent either a straight-chain isomer like butane (CH3CH2CH2CH3) or a branched-chain isomer like (CH3)3CH.”
