A level Chemistry help

I have been working on questions about catalyst
5(C2O4)2- + 2MnO4- 916H+ -> 10CO2 +2Mn2+ +8H2O
So I know that Mn2+ is the catalyst and this is a autocatalysis reaction.
How do I know if Mn2+ react with (C2O4)2- first or MnO4- first to form Mn3+?
Thanks

To go from Mn2+ to Mn3+ the ion is being oxidised. MnO4- is the oxidising agent (it is reduced from +7 to +2 in the reaction) so this is the ion the manganese (II) would react with first.

Great, thanks
