In need of guidance

Hello,*
I am a former medical applicant who switched to biomedical science due to my interest in becoming a clinical scientist. I am currently in Year 13, and my decision has caused a big stir in my family. My mother is very concerned about the career opportunities I would encounter if I studied BioMed; she has no colleagues or friends who are clinical scientists, hence she worries that I am choosing a career that leads to a dead end. The decision to change paths was a huge one for me, one that I had been brooding over for over a year, but the lack of opportunities to interact with such personnel is a big hindrance to my arguments on why I want to study biomedical science instead of medicine. Does anyone know where I can find such opportunities?

I know the NHS runs events like that sometimes, such as an NHS Scientific Careers Event last year, so you may be able to find something like that? You may also be able to find contact details for things like the NHS Scientist Training Programme too? Here's the link:
