You are aware there is a massive difference between refugees + asylum seekers, and economic migrants don't you OP?

Your thread title isn't related to the questions asked in the slightest.

Funny, we got along without foreign workers before.

If we need foreign aid to make our economy, perhaps our economy isn't in the right direction.

The British people can very easily control their own economy and run their own affairs.

Our economy would be fine with foreigners, although perhaps not as strong as it was with them.

Put yourself in their shoes.
Well the questions aside, you refer to these humans as a commodity to be used, but they are people who in the vast majority of cases only want to improve their lot in life. In their position you would do exactly the same.
