Tree diagrams in latex

Hi all,

its not particularly important, just would like to be able to do it, I've installed the qtree package but it has no option (as far as i can find) to allow you to rejoin branches to the same node (roughly like below, the x's are just there for whitespace, [why the hell does it delete it? if i type whitespace its becuase i want whitespace])

x x 3 x
x / x \
4 x x 5
x\ x x/
x x 3
Has anyone ever needed to do this? anyone know of a package that can?

Thanks

well, if you join it as such it is no longer a tree so a tree package won't suffice. Try a package designed for more general graphs or networks.

Also, if you want to keep whitespace, use the code /code tags

yeah i guess so...i'll get to my fun evening of learning graphics in latex

cheers
either that or you could use a graphics package and draw the graph in another program?
