did you see him laughing about the death of another rapper apparently beefing one of his associates? just makes me think wow, life is so cheap to these guys. I mean teenage murders happen in london, but even here its knives, HOW THE HELL ARE 16 YEAR OLD KIDS GETTING SHOT!! its crazy...

I think the burst of emotion is from lupe feeling the pain of the soaring murders in his city.

I'm not surprised really based on his last few tweets from the past couple months. Lupe has had to satisfy both the industry and his fans and it's been hard. I'm really gutted but I wish him every success in the future.

This. Violence is a part of American culture. It's evident in their history (see South America, Vietnam etc) and is glamorised and romanticised by media over there. The young kids in the crummy areas are desensitised to it from an early age.
