You would need a Doctorate (3 years) in Counselling Psychology.

Possible graduate jobs include Assistant Psychologist, Research Assistant.. Statistics is a pretty good route, but will eventually require a MSc/PhD. Other than doing further postgraduate work, graduate destinations are pretty generic outside of those positions.

could an MSc get me into doing psychology counselling or would i definitely need a PhD?

Neither. You need a doctorate to work as a qualified Counselling Psychologist. A PhD is a research degree.

You could also just do a diploma and become a Counsellor.

My sis studied for 5 years (Bsc+Msc) and works as a counsellor for day patients (i.e people who are not admitted into the institution, they just drop by a few times per week), most of her patients are teenage girls with eating disorders. She does normal cognitive behavioural therapy, which I guess is the standard route after a psychology degree.

I've also met people working at companies, with career development etc, helping employees putting up career goals and helping them get there. And holding lectures at companies about work environment improvement etc.
