University in France

Hi all,

thinking about applying to a french university but my french is sadly a little rusty. Can any helpful TSR-ers give me any advice on how to apply, what the process is like, etc?

merci d'avance!

That website seems to need me to register and pay a subscription...I'm looking for something a wee bit cheaper (free, really...). But thank you for your help!

Your post is pretty wide, so rather than give you a potentially unhelpful essay response, if you have any specific questions I'd be happy to try and help. If you're from the EU basically you just apply to the university you want to go to directly with a lettre de motivation, CV and copies of your recent qualifications (the original version and the one translated into French by a traducteur assermenté). For grandes écoles, which are more prestigious and specialised, the application process is more thorough and typical involves a concours (exam and interview). You need to have a level of at least B2, sometimes C1, in a French exam such as the TCF, DELF or DALF too.
