My friend called an ambulance because she was concerned about me and I said I wanted to die. They took me to A&E where I was taken to a cubicle straight away as I was really distressed and I wasn't really in touch with reality. They put a security guard outside my cubicle so that I couldn't leave. Psychiatric team came to see me, asked me if I would allow them to admit me.... I was kept in A&E overnight being watched the whole time.... then in the morning they said they couldn't find me a bed and sent me home saying the crisis team would come round and visit me in a few hours.
If you can avoid this route; I'd recommend getting an emergency appt with your GP instead as they can make referrals too and access the crisis team. If you can't keep yourself safe though, head to A&E.
