Help with homogenous equations

I'm solving a homogenous equation but the question says that (1+v)/(1+4v)-v=(1-4v^2)/(1+4v) and I can't for the life of me figure out how they got that.. any help please??

v=v(1+4v)1+4v\displaystyle v=\frac{v(1+4v)}{1+4v}

Just collect the two terms on the left hand side over a common denominator.
