Quadratic simultaneous equations help?

Hi, can somebody please help me with the following question:

Solve the simultaneous equations:

x + y = 9
x^2 - 3xy + 2y^2 = 0

This is my second attempt but I think I'm getting the answer wrong because I'm stuck at how I would substitute in the 3xy '3xy' part. The (py)(py) (p-y) (p-y) was supposed to be (9y)(9y) (9-y) (9-y) :

This what I did on my first attempt ( hopefully you can still read it ):

Thanks
