Temporary doctors and depression

Can you see a temporary doctor for undiagnosed depression that seems to be getting worse?
Asking for a friend who's home dr is 3 hr away from Uni and they're not back for a few weeks- but this can't wait.

She would have to register with a GP in her uni town, which would remove her from the list at her home Dr's as far as I'm aware.

Has she contacted her uni's student support?

If they can't wait and can't register at uni they could temporarily register at uni (only lasts a fixed time, but doesn't unregister you at your other practice) or they could see the walk-in or uni support. They may be able to help them until they can see their doctor at home or give them advice on where to go. They definately wouldn't be able to refer them though which is what they will probably need so they will need to see a doctor they are registered with.

In a crisis they can always call 111/ 999 or go to A&E/ out of hours doc.
