Difficult physics question

A basic air riffle fires slugs of mas 0.50g at a velocity of 160ms-1.
a)suppose the air rifle of mass 0.80 kg is free to move wen a slug is fired. Calculate the speed which it recoils?
b)normally the rifle is being held.what mean force does the person experience to prevent the rifle recoiling more the 0.50mm when he fires?

1) Use the fact that momentum is conserved to find the speed of recoil, remembering that when the air rifle was fired it was at rest.
2) From (a) you should have found the speed hence use a SUVAT equation to find the acceleration required to ensure the rifle recoils only 0.5mm before it comes to rest. Then use the F=ma to find that force.
