Simultaneous Equation Help!

Been doing this maths problem and got to this stage

2ax-λb=0
2by+λa=0
c-bx-ay=0

a ≠ b. You have to solve to gt rid of lambda but I cannot see the link.

Have you tried letting the first equations equal lambda, and letting those equal each other? That can get rid of lambda for you.

to get rid of lambda just make lambda the subject in the first two equations and equate to each other
