Ideas silver maker badge pixel pencil

I have no clue what to do for stage 1-3 on the silver maker badge (pixel art) it just keeps saying I am changing the shape of the pencil. What do I do?

Make it look like that. I just finished it. a checker board in the middle for 3 pixels swapping dark, light brown.

Still does not work

it still says, looks like you changed the shape of the pencil- so it doesn't work
