Can I take a computer science degree?

I know that only maths is really essential but realistically am I likely to get in without taking computer science a level?

I take Maths, Physics and Economics.

It really depends on where you go because, yes you can but it might be on a UCAS point tariff as apposed to requiring specific subjects.

Consider a foundation year if it’s completely new to you.

But my advice would be give it a go, why not. Comp Sci is still relatively new in the grand scheme of things to mainstream education at GCSE and Alevel. Just give yourself options.

Hi @m.s124

I think it depends on the university which you apply for as some will ask for a Computing based A-level.

At Hull, our entry requirements are BBC (112 Ucas points)
Applicants should also have GCSE Maths at Grade 4 or C or above

more details about our course are available on our website.

If you are worried, I would advise contacting the admissions team of universities which you are interested in and they may be able to offer your further guidance
