if you have a level 3 childcare or relevant qualification you are an early years educator
you can also look for part time jobs as family support worker or children's support worker if it helps!

day nurseries is a good job site advertising nursery positions

I did Level 3 Health and Social Care does that count?

Also I've sent emails to 10 nuseries about placement hopefully ine of them will reply (been rejected twice today from two nuseries)
hmm I'm not sure about level 3 health and social care. maybe there are some jobs out there working with children but not in a nursery? I know some maternity assistant jobs that NHS advertised and they prefer you to have level 3 health and social care or childcare but not sure if your interested in that role.

keep trying to contact schools too

Hey Kellie I tried to PM you but it's not going through.
I applied for a maternity assistant (on postnatal ward) and somehow got an interview and it's part time.
Can you help me with the interview questions they may ask?

Hi every1 hope Ur ok!
Well done on securing an interview. I suggest reading the job description they attached and read the role. At the interview, tell them how u have transferrable skills. It's not all about the babies, there r mother's too. So talk about support wiv breastfeeding/formula.
Hope it goes well and good luck!

Other students in my course are also struggling to find placement, my lecturer said that if the majority of people are unable to find placement then there will be an alternative assessment.

I did apply for a part time position but they only take qualified Early Years Educators but I'll keep trying to look for other places

Sorry to hear about it. Most nursery do ask for a level 3 childcare. Have u thought about applying for an unqualified role? I'm not sure about the pay tho.

Some jobs you can do wiv a health and social care are:
Nursing assistant (if you are interested)
Care Worker
Support worker
Occupational Therapist assistant
Social Worker assistant
Youth Worker

Do any of those interest you?
Have you got previous experience working in nurseries as that could help when apply for nursery roles.
Thank you. I'm so nervous in case they ask why I want to not pursue a teaching career or something like that

My interview went well (I think). Waiting to hear back. Good luck for university. I'm in my last year (level 6) so working on dissertation and I had to re-do one of my level 5 modules this term. It's all online but don't know from February.

Is dissertation hard? Y Did u hav 2 redo a module?
the dissertation is stressful but I chose a good supervisor who's helped me every step of the way. I have already started planning everything and notes. it's 9,000 words

I had to re-do one of my second year modules as the teacher from two years ago didn't submit mine in...long story lol

Yes. I'm planning to write 4,000 words by feburary. My supervisor helped me plan every step of the way so don't worry about it.

Nice! You get a supervisor, is your supervisor your personal tutor?
Nope. I haven't been taught by her but she a specialist in the topic of my dissertation. how's your placement going?

That's nice when did you get assigned your supervisor?

It's not going great unfortunately, all of the nuseries I've been in contact with are unable to provide placement due to covid. Been in contact with two primary schools and they haven't replied to me for a really long time
You get assigned a supervisor once you choose what area topic you want e.g. play or child protection. And then you get contact details and you basically talk to them and they help you.

oh no I thought you would have already done the placement by now. hopefully something gets sorted. Has your tutor said placement is compulsory this year?

That's interesting thanks for letting me know

Yeah I thought the same too, it's really difficult to find placement, luckily if we don't find a placement by the end of January they will give us an alternative assessment

My module lead also said that I can apply for a job but again, it's really difficult as well but I'll keep trying till the end of January
Good luck in getting a job. I'm still waiting to hear if I've been successful in my interview for maternity assistant.
