When calculating the median or quartiles of data, when do you plus one to the frequency? I’ve tried searching it up but I’m a bit confused.

Thank you

In general this is used when finding the median of ungrouped data.

It can also be used for the quartiles of ungrouped data - depends what you've been taught.
