don’t think they’d do supreme court though because that’s unit 2

i'd say you should replace 1979 with a 2019 one as the spec for the uk gov paper said that they wanted that specifically so im sure it probably applies across the board; although i don't think you'd be marked down if you didn't

I would do 2019 GE, Brexit and maybe recent media with opinion polls (eg Liz Truss v the cabbage)

Hi guys I’m a politics student in year 12 and this is kind of off topic but I struggle a lot with finding recent news which my teachers recommend to use in our essays and since most of you will be sitting your exams very soon. Any tips? Or like places I can find news and key evidences that link to the spec and how do you revise for the exams?

For specific examples and evidence: keep updated on the news definitely - download The Guardian or BBC and have notifications on for them! Follow tldrnewsuk on Instagram and YouTube, they keep up to date with UK politics and it's simple so definitely easier to understand. Similarly, to back up statements, I often try to find YouGov or BSA polls - e.g., about participation I found a BSA poll stating in 2017, 43% of people had a great deal/a lot of interest in politics after Brexit - would be good evidence to back up a statement about advantages of referendums.

For revision: I use the blurting method - grab a whiteboard and two pen colours, write what you know about a topic, then use your notes and add what you don't know - repeat until you remember. Hope this helps!

Happy to send you my revision notes if we follow the same specification too.

I also do edexcel! I do nationalism as my non-core ideology and global politics as my 3B comparative politics option, so if you do either of those I can send you the notes on them too.

My teacher said these 4 have never come up:
Socialism + Human Nature
Socialism + State
Liberalism + Human Nature
Liberalism + State

And on the basis that liberalism didn't come up last year, as well I don't think there has been a recent combination of 1 Q on socialism and1 Q on liberalism it's very possible that could come up!

As well I have heard that parties has come up less, of course it's impossible to predict but could be more likely to come up? I guess we'll see next Tuesday hahaha
