IB vs A-levels

I am finishing IGCSEs soon, and debating whether I should take IB or A-levels next year.
Our school is an IB school, but the university/major I am applying to only requires A-levels. If I take IB, I'll have to take three other SL subjects plus ToK and EE. I've heard older students say IB is time-consuming and that I should escape to A-levels...
Which should I choose?
If you don't take IB, you would need to find a new A levels school, right? It may already be too late as your parents could have already paid for your first term of IB fees. Please check.

Only requires A-levels? Surely all accept both?...

Yes, IB is very time-consuming but what do you want to study?
