Is getting above 80% in a Biochemistry degree difficult?

I was just wondering how difficult it is to get above 80% in an undergraduate Biochemistry degree at a UK university.

Depends on how hard you work and whether you're one of those people who's naturally good at biology or not. Much easier imo to score 90%-100% on worksheets based on practicals or online quizzes than essays or lab reports, so also depends on how the coursework/exams are set up and what works for you.

I scored an average of mid-80s in first year and I wasn't trying super hard. I'm at a 78% in second year right now but I have exams to go still (30% of overall grade).

I don't think any employer or postgraduate course really cares if you got a high first vs a low first so it doesn't matter. I'd recommend working hard at coursework during the year to build up a buffer incase exams don't go your way.
