P1 - Inevitably leads to revolution due to class consciousness, link it to historical materialism and use Marx as your thinker. Evaluated with the idea that class consciousness isn’t important in bringing about a socialist revolution with Lenin.

P2 - Mobility between classes is more important than abolishing class, used Crosland as a key thinker. Further developed by Giddens who saw increased wealth as a way to garner taxation and promote the poorer through government intervention.

P3 - Totally embedded within society, beyond the economic. Used Antonio Gramsci’s theory of a “cultural hegemony” of the bourgeois, and evaluated by saying neo-Marxists such as Ralph Miliband - despite abhorring the methods Gramsci advocates for - would agree that capitalism runs deep in society and will try to preserve itself by derailing the agendas of socialist governments.

1. capitalism oppresses the working Classes and class consciousness is needed for a revolution and dictatorship of the proletariat (Marx) and then linked that to Luxembourg's idea of downtrodden proletariat communities
2. Webb's idea that capitalism causes economic class conflict over materials and needs to be solved through parliamentary reform and expanded suffrage for all classes (linked that to her involvement with Clause IV etc)
3. Giddens' view of a Neo-liberal economy propelled to help class inequality by providing equality of opportunity, and then said how its less significant due to the inequality of outcome that inevitably occurs afterwards
