Help modulus

Help.
You know for here this q.
When I want to make 4-|2x| negative since on my graph it’s going down when x is going up.
What would it be? Because you only make the modulus negative right. So is it like on my whiteboard for the point I circled on my graph (calc) ??IMG_2588.jpegIMG_2589.jpegIMG_2590.jpeg Do u only make the mod part negative like in my working or all the stuff in the left??IMG_2591.jpeg

Youre still not writing the interval and inequality clearly. There are two intervals for this mod function

1) x<0, so |2x| = -2x, so
4 - |2x| > x becomes
4 + 2x > x
and you only accept solutions for which x is negative.

2) x>0, so |2x| = 2x
4 - |2x| > x becomes
4 - 2x > x
and you only accept solutions for which x is positive..

If youre continually having these problems, write the interval, |@| = +/-@ and check solution parts out clearly each time.
