St Andrews uni degree structure

Can anyone who has studied at St Andrews confirm that the first 2 years (exam wise) don’t count towards your degree.
I know you can try out different modules and ‘specialise’ 3rd and 4th years so I assume that is when the hard work really starts?
I also presume some of the more ‘’creative’’/ non academic modules you can take in 1st year (eg music ones) won’t be on offer after 2nd year since the uni doesn’t offer it as a degree??? (At least that’s what I think!)
I just want to be sure of this, would be reassuring if s.o can confirm

The first two years exams don't count towards your degree classification. But you need to pass modules in order to carry on with the subject in the next year. You need to check the programme requirements to make sure you are taking the right modules for the degree you want to take. I was going to say that all modules are part of a degree course but I see there are some music ones that aren't. Most people I know take modules in first and second year that could lead on to a degree. There's not really non academic modules.
