Laptop Screen Size for Uni

Hi all,

I’ve been debating between a couple of laptops to get for uni for a while now, the Lenovo Yoga Pro 7i G8 and the Huawei Matebook Pro 16s 2023. Both have essentially the same battery life and processor, but the Huawei has a bigger 16” screen (touch) and 1TB of storage whereas the Lenovo has a smaller 14.5” screen (non-touch) and 512GB of storage. I’m going to be studying Engineering and primarily using my laptop for programming (Python, MatLab, etc.) as well as recreational use and general use for documents, writing and coursework. Is the bigger screen of the Huawei a benefit when it comes to multitasking / programming, or will it end up being a hassle having to lug the laptop around (it’s 2kg and obviously bigger as opposed to the Lenovo’s 1.5kg)? Also, is 512GB enough storage to last 4 years of this type of use or would 1TB be a safer option (both are SSD)? And is there any benefit or disadvantage to the touchscreen in anyone’s experience?

Any help in the decision would be appreciated
P.S. the Lenovo is £720 while the Huawei is £935
