:hello: Welcome to the A-level Politics Study Group! :hello:

This is where you can chat with other students studying the same subjects as you and support each other as you head towards your exams :grouphugs:
You can post any useful tips and resources that you come across, offer support to others, share your successes, or just have moan when it gets tough!
Just remember, it’s against the site rules to ask for or offer any copyrighted papers, or to take conversations off-site to do these things. Posts that break these rules will be removed.
A few possible ice breaker questions are:
What exam board are you with?
What do you enjoy most about this subject/ course?
What area do you struggle with in this subject/ course?
Good luck with the next few months. Remember, ask for help, support where you can and together we can do this! :yeah:

Hello!
I do Politics via Edexcel, plus English Literature, and History. All essay subjects, which can be a bit hard sometimes, but ehhh, I would choose them over maths and the sciences any day.
I'm based in Rome for A levels, although I'm not Italian, but wonderful country.
Currently I'm struggling most with politics put of all my subjects because its just so much information to process, and the essays in 2 hours Take. Me. Out. I'm practising the hell out of them over Easter.

Hii SAME!!! i do edexcel too and democracy & participation is my favouriteeee topic! Esp pressure groups 🤌
I really really hate ideologies too, especially conservatism 🥲though its likely to come up this year… 😭
We do Feminism for our non-core ideology, wbu?

Funny that Its the opposite for me!
I HATE pressure groups omg they're like the worse for me in terms of remembering things and arguing for or against if they're good for democracy. If you have any tips, always welcome! (In my essays I end up throwing in all the jazzy words: democracy, democratic deficit, legitimacy, representation, etc etc)
As for ideology, from what I've learnt its best to memorise everything about each separate strand of, for example, Conservatism, so Traditional Conservatism, One Nation and the New Right (always 3 main strands) in terms of: human nature, economy, state, society. What do each of these strands think of these four things? Plus the thinkers are like an add on wherever you can, even mentioning one once gets the tick that you've mentioned them.
Anyway, good luck!!

I found this show stopping YouTube channel that gives you a full run down on every part of the syllabus, with relevant examples, and potential questions. If anyone is struggling with politics, check out 'Politics Explained Tutoring'. I would die for that man with how much he's saving me and my grades!
